When you do not need a theory test

You don't need to take a theory exam before booking a driving test to upgrade your license. An automatic vehicle license to a manual vehicle license. From category A1 (small motorcycles) to category A2(medium motorcycles), if you've had the license for at least two years. From category C1 (medium cars) to category C (Large Cars), unless you got your C 1 entitlement from passing a car driver test.

Your car theory test score is 86%, you need to get 43 correct answers out of 50 questions to pass. To pass your hazard perception test, you must score 44 out of 75.

Arriving at Milton Keynes Theory Test Centre

By public transport we have particularly good news for people who travel to this theory test centre by train. It's just over a 10 minute walk from Milton Keynes Central. It's also very accessible by bus. Both the Central Bus Exchange and Santander House bus stops are a super fast 2 minutes walk away. Very handy, eh?

The test centre is located just two turns off the A5, and is close to the Wetherspoon pub. Avoid driving here during rush hour as parking is difficult. Find nearby parking if possible.

Your best bet is to head to the B3 (EMRs zone) council-run carpark (MK9 1SH), which is only a 3-minute walk from the test centre itself. It costs a bargainous £1 per hour for two hours of parking. It’s almost worth driving in just for the parking deal!

You are a beer enthusiast who enjoys drinking craft beers and small batches. You have a 5 minute walk to the test centre. A small food menu is available if you're hungry.

The Cricketers is a pub located near the test centre. It serves traditional English fare such as fish and chips, steak pie and shepherd's pie. It also shows cricket matches on TV.

There's also a nice place to drink called All Bar One nearby. It's a classy place to go. You'll be treated well by the bartender and the waiters. Cocktails are served here. And it's close to your hotel.

There are two ways to take the theory test. You can either book online or call up to speak to an advisor. Both options require your provisional license number.

Telephone theory tests are booked using an automated system. A member of staff can be contacted if there are any problems. Internet theory tests are booking via an automated system. You can use this website to book a theory test in your local area.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLING THE THEORY TEST

If you're unable to attend your theory exam in Milton Keynes, you can either reschedule it or cancel it. You must give three working days' notice to reschedule the exam. Saturday exams are included as a working week.

ATTENDING THE THEORY TEST

Candidates should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrival will result in refusal of entry into the test centre. Photocards must be shown when requested by the test administrator. Paper counterparts are no longer needed.

Without your photocard, the testing centre manager may not allow you to take the test. If your license is lost or stolen, contact the DVLA to obtain a replacement. You need a valid UK passport to prove identity.
