Stornoway Theory Test Centre

Stornoway theory test centre is in Unit 3 on Cromwell Street Quay, Harbour View. It is a very scenic place to sit your theory test with some fabulous views across the water. If you drive to the theory test centre, car parking will not be an issue for the centre itself is in the middle of Cromwell Street Car Park. The test centre is easy to find as it is the last building on the quay front. If you arrive by bus, head towards the tourist information office and turn into the car park.

Before you book your theory test online with us, do make sure you have done enough revision. You are allowed to sit the theory test again if necessary, but this will incur another test fee, so ideally you should try and pass first time!

Thanks to its remote location on the Isle of Lewis, Stornoway is one of the quieter test centres in the UK. Only 376 people sat their theory test in Stornoway between April and December 2013; of that number 172 passed, which at 45.7% puts the pass rate well below the national average. Interestingly the previous year the pass rate was much higher at 57.6%, but this is fairly representative across the rest of the UK.
