Please note the testing centre is found in Phoenix house which is directly opposite lakeside Superbowl.

If you are writing at the test centre by car, please be advised the nearest parking is found at Cosens Quay costing £2.50 for two hours. Alternatively, you can use Weymouth multi-storey car park at a cost of £2.80 for two hours. Both car parks are equidistant from the test centre at approximately 0.1 miles which will take you 2 minutes to walk in

For candidates travelling by bus please use the main bus station which is approximately 0.5 miles away from the test centre and will take you 9 minutes to walk in.

Weymouth train station can be found on King Street, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 7BN and this is approximately 0.5 miles away from the testing centre and will take you 11 minutes to walk in.

Booking Your Driving Theory Test

About the Driving Theory Test

The driving theory test is designed to show that you can demonstrate you understand how the road system works. You must pass your theory test before you can move on to your practical test and both are required for a full UK driving licence.

The test is conducted on computer and features a multiple-choice questionnaire and then he has a perception simulation where you must correctly identify the dangers as they appear on the road ahead.

Taking the Test

It is vital that you are not late for your driving theory test as the appointment times are very strict and you will be disqualified even if you are only a minute late. Our advice is to be 15 minutes early to ensure that everything can be taken care of ahead of time.

You may not take any of your personal possessions from the waiting area into the test room. Instead you will be allocated a secure storage locker in which to leave them and this must include things like your mobile phone as if you are found with them inside the testing room you will be disqualified.

After the Test

Once you have completed both parts of the test you will be able to collect your results immediately. You will be informed as to whether you have passed or failed tests and given a breakdown that details how well you did on each section.
