Newport Theory Test Centre Directions

There are two parking lots near the test center. Parking lot 1 costs £1.50 per hour, while parking lot 2 costs £3.00 an hour. Both lots are within a five minute walk from the test center.

What is the theory test pass mark?

The pass mark for the car test is 86% and you must answer at least 43 out 50 multiple choice questions correctly to pass. You also need to score 44 out of 75 on the hazard perception test to successfully complete the overall theory test.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLING THE THEORY TEST

I'm sorry but I am unable to attend my theory test in Newport. I can reschedule it to a suitable time and place or cancel it to get a full refund. Saturday is included as a working day, so I can reschedule my test to any other day.

AFTER YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST

The DVSA now send e mails not letters to confirm your Theory Test booking. Check you provide the right email address so that you receive Confirmation on the date, time, address and reference number of your Theory Test. If you have not received an E mail, check your Junk Folder. Although not essential to take to the Theory Test Centre, it's advisable to print this E mail to show to the centre Staff if any Problems Arise.

ATTENDING THE THEORY TEST

All theory test centres have pre-arranged allocated test times. As a result, if you arrive late, you won't be allowed to sit the test. You need to bring along your provisional license, passport or driving license. If you've lost your license, contact the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) who'll send you a replacement.

Knowledge and understanding

Hazard perception test consists of three sections, each section containing a different type of scenario. Each scenario contains a set of questions, some of which require you to make decisions. You need to answer these questions correctly to pass the test. Multiple-choice test consists of four sections, each section containing ten questions. Each question requires you to choose one option out of five options. You need to select the correct answer to pass the test.
