Fareham Theory Test Centre Directions

Car. If you're travelling by car to the testing centre, the nearest parking facilities are on Trinity Street, at a fee of 70p per hour. It is about 0.3 miles away, taking five minutes to walk.

Bus

The station is located on Harper Road and is approximately 7 minutes' walk from the test centre. This distance is measured as 0.4 miles.

Train

The station is approximately 0.5 miles from the test centre. Candidates should press the call button labelled "Pearson" when arriving at the test centre.

Book a test online

You'll be put in a queue if you want to take your driving test. You'll be told how long you'll need to wait once you start. You can book a driving test up to 24 weeks into the future. There is a waiting list, but there is no cancellation list.

Before you start

You need your: UK driving license number. credit or debit cards. driving instructor’ s personal reference number if you need to check they're available. You can check how much it costs to take your driving test before you begin. You must have lived here for at least 185 days over the past year before the day you take the test.

There's a different service to book driving tests in Northern Ireland. You should be able to cancel an appointment if there's a problem. Cancelling early isn't always possible.

Book a test to upgrade your licence

You should contact the DVSA if you want to book a driving test. Call them on 0300 200 1122 Monday to Friday, 8am -4pm. Find out about call charges.

Arriving at Fareham Theory Test Centre

Public transport gets us there quickly. The bus stops right outside the test centre. Walking takes about 30 minutes.

To gain a deeper understanding of how the transport network serves Fareham, head on to the Fareham Borough council website by car. If someone who has already gained their driving license is willing to drive you there, this should also be an easy way of getting there. You could use a satnav to get there.

Centre location is just off the Western Way Road, and down the street form the Fareham Community Church, and near the Fareham train station. Parking theory test centres rarely provide on-site parking, and Fareham parking is not breaking the mould here. Don't give up hope yet, though, as there are car parks conveniently located nearby.

There are many places to park near the test centre. You could try the Trinity Street car park or the Holy Trinity car park. Both charge £1.40 per hour.

The pass rate at Fareham is lower than the national average, but it doesn't affect my chances of passing. I'll be fine!

This hotel is a nice place to stay if you're looking for a quiet break. There's a traditional pub downstairs, and the rooms are clean and well-equipped. You can get to the test centre in less than an hour by car.

The Solent Hotel & Spa is a beautiful hotel with tennis courts, hot tubs and an on-site spa. It's a 16 minute drive from the test centre.

Booking a theory test at Fretham Theory Test Centre is easy. You can either call them or use the online form. Make sure you have your driving license ready before you make a booking. 

CANCELLING AND RESCHEDULING THE THEORY TEST

You must give 3 days notice before cancelling or changing your appointment. Cancellation fees apply.

AFTER YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST

Make sure you provide the correct email address when booking a theory test. You will get an e-mail confirming the booking details. Check your junk mail folder if you can't find it. Print out the confirmation e-mail to show the centre staff if there are any problems.

ATTENDING YOUR THEORY TEST

You should always book your theory test online before going to the centre. This ensures that you get the right date and time slot. You need to bring your provisional licence card with you when you go to the centre.

You should take your passport along when taking the theory test. Your license will be lost if you do not bring it. You must contact the DVLA to get a replacement.
