Directions

For candidates travelling by car there are two car parks of choice, one on Portland Street and one on Sherborne Place both are approximately 0.1 miles from the test centre and take a two-minute walk. The cost of parking for both car parks is £2.50 for two hours.

if you prefer to take the bus the station is found on Royal Crescent and is 0.4 miles away from the test centre taking a nine-minute walk.

Should you prefer Cheltenham train station is 1.3 miles away from the test centre and will take approximately 27 minutes to walk in. The train station is found on Queens Road, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL51 8NP

About the Driving Theory Test

The theory test element of your UK driving licence is designed to ensure that you understand the rules and regulations of the road. It must be passed before you can move on to taking your practical test.

the test takes place on computer and is in two parts, firstly a multiple-choice quiz and then a hazard perception simulation where you are required to identify correctly hazards on the road.

Taking the Test

It is important that you arrive on the day 15 minutes early in order to prepare for the test. Failure to be on time results in immediate disqualification and this is not a decision that can be appealed as it is made very clear to candidates in advance.

On arrival you will be asked to leave all of your personal belongings in your secure locker. It is really important that you do not try and take anything at all into the test room with you as this can be seen as cheating and again you will be disqualified. This includes mobile phones any electronic devices and pieces of paper.

After the Test

The results of the tests are available straight after completion so there is no waiting around to find out if you have passed or failed. You will be given a printed sheet that details how you performed in each section giving you knowledge point issues should you have to retake
