Cambridge theory test centre is found on the ground floor of St Andrews house.
Candidates arriving by car will find the nearest parking facilities 0.1 miles away which is approximately a 3-minute walk. This is the Grand Arcade Multi Storey car park and depending on the day will cost between £4 and £4.60 for a 2 hour stay.
If you are travelling in by bus, Parkside is the bus station needed and this will take you approximately 9 minutes to walk into the test centre as it is approximately 0.5 miles away.
Should you prefer the train, you will have a 20-minute walk as the station is roughly one mile away from the test centre. Cambridge train station is found on Station Road, Cambridge, CB1 2JW.
Booking Your Driving Theory Test
You do not have to concern yourself with booking your test as we do that on your behalf. DVLA can be hard to navigate and we have much experience so we will act as your point of communication and ensure that your test is booked when you need it.
We believe that we have prepared you correctly so that you will pass your test on the first attempt however if you do happen to fail, we have a free rebooking service and we will get you there the second time.
About the Driving Theory Test
In order to obtain a full UK driving licence you must have a class in both the driving theory test and the practical test. You cannot move to the practical test until the first part has been completed so it is vital that you prepare well in order to progress.
The practise questions form exactly the same format as the real test, and this is a multiple-choice quiz followed by a hazard perception simulation which you are asked to quickly identify correctly the hazards shown on the screen.
Taking the Test
On the day of the test you should arrive 15 minutes before your test time, as arriving late will be seen as a dis qualifiable offence. This is not a decision we can appeal, and you will have to begin the process all over again.
On arrival you will be allocated a locker, and you should secure all the belongings you have with you in the lockup. You may not take your mobile phone or any electronic device into the room with you. You must not take any pieces of paper and you should take care to empty your pockets. Any of these offences can be seen as cheating in which case you will be given an immediate fail.
After the Test
Your result is immediately available to you after you have completed the test so there is no waiting to find out whether you have passed or failed. You will also be given a breakdown of your test showing how you performed during each section. This will be useful if you did fail.
